Kia ora, welcome to the pānui news site. Here we provide information and analysis on Māori social, economic and treaty matters, and on the associated policies and politics which frame developments.

This site will be of interest to people following Māori policy developments including iwi leaders, managers in Māori provider organisations, policy-makers, politicians and their advisors, and to other generalist media outlets.

Free current affairs posts are available to all, but analytical assessments and briefing papers are restricted to logged in subscribers. Each week a round-up ‘omnibus’ briefing paper is also prepared for subscribers and delivered via email. These papers outline key events and include analytical background notes to assist readers evaluative policy and social developments. More extensive policy briefing papers are also provided on key topics. About us

Will Workman 

This site is owned by Workman Enterprises Ltd. The Managing Director is William (Craig) Workman.

Will continues to work as a consultant offering services in strategic planning, policy advice and interpretations, service and business developments, and evaluative assessments. Will holds tertiary qualifications in business, education, sociology, and public management. For the pānui site Will is the leading contributing author of briefing papers.

Honoria Ropiha – Site Content Manager

 

Honoria (latin for Honor) is responsible for site current affair uploads, which occur on a daily basis. This role complements her broader interests and emerging career in media and communications. Honoria is also preparing analytical commentaries, with a particular focus on the health and social sectors. Her academic background is in health policy and her employment background is also in health services.

About the technicians

Will Workman is the site developer and  architect.

Tim Henderson provided theme design servces, including the creation of the pānui logo and customisation of the site. In regards to the logo Tim writes, “the Kaitiaki as I like to call it is a contemporary form based on traditional Māori designs; a winged taniwha who guards the kōrero of Pānui.” … “I was influenced by Māori myth, contemporary Māori art in particular the work of Cliff Whiting”.
